As per March 2005, the configuration, the engine choice, the external aircraft envelope (comprising aerodynamics) and the drawings of the main details are finished and modelled on 3D-CAD software.
Roughly, the next steps which will take place during the following months will be:
- to confirm and refine the aerodynamics by mean of CFD analysis (comprising high-lift devices)
- to test the transmission on a rigid test bed and then in a firewall forward fuselage mockup
- to assess the aerodynamics using a flying model
- to review the stress report and freeze the structural design
- to build the molds for the composite parts and manufacture the metallic parts for the prototype
- to assemble the prototype
- to test fly the prototype
- to implement any improvements/mofications in the mold and produce parts
- to assemble 2 preserial aircraft and assess the assembly process
- to commercialize the aircraft as a kitplane
Once the above milestones are reached successfully, 3 aircraft will be flying and will promote the design and take part to meetings worldwide.
