The vertical stabilizer of the NG Aeroplane contains a typical feature, characteristic of the NGA design: the extended lower vertical fin.
- This lower vertical fin carries the wheel and gives the aeroplane, on the ground the exact angle of attack to take-off and land, without any further action of the pilot needed, than hold the stick neutral: NGA shall take-off and land on 3 points, more or less.
- The T-tail configuration has 2 goals: keeping the horizontal stabilizer off the downwash from the wing (especially once the highly powerful flaps are expanded) and keeping the authority of the vertical stabilizer in spins to increase and improve spin recovery.
